IntelliJ IDEA is the IDE of choice for many Java developers (including much of the ColdFusion engineering team). JetBrains has announced the public preview of IntelliJ IDEA 10, which, among lots of other things, now includes a CFML plug-in.

Before Dawn Solutions creates skEdit, a Mac text editor with CFML support. They have announced discounted pricing through the end of the month.

While I am not sure I agree with everything reported to have been said by RIM CEO Jim Balsillie at the Web 2.0 Summit (I personally like the "appification of the Web"), his comments about giving developers options and users what they want is spot on.

I usually aggregate ColdFusion job announcements into a single weekend post, but this post by Matt Woodward merits immediate linking to. Recruiter Brandon Fujii is looking for 20+ ColdFusion developers for positions in Irvine, CA, Culver City, CA, or Plano, TX.

Android Gingerbread (aka Android 2.3) is on its way, and in anticipation of the release the Adobe AIR team has announced AIR 2.5.1 to support the new OS (and to provide some minor bug fixes).

Fellow Adobe evangelist Serge Jespers spent 5 hours building an app that runs on 5 different devices, all using the same code base. And he just posted the details (with video). Very impressive stuff!

First, the Official Google Webmaster Central Blog has announced significant enhancements to how Google indexes SWF files. This comes on top of work with Google two years ago, and enhancements last year, and as the post notes, Google is not done yet.

Secondly, Flex developer Matthew Fabb has posted thoughts on a MAX 2010 announcement that kind of got lost in all of the other big news, threading and concurrency support coming to Flash Player.

Chris Peters has announced the release of ColdFusion On Wheels 1.1. New to this release are support for nested properties, H2 database support, automatic dependency handling, and more.

WebProfessionals.org and MobileInnovators.org announced that Adobe MAX 2010 is the winner of WebProfessionals.org annual Mobile Innovators Award, recognizing Adobe and its annual MAX Conference as the leading event for technology and creative professionals.

The Linux Journal Readers' Choice Awards 2010 have been announced, and Adobe AIR won the "Best Platform for Developing Rich Internet Apps" category.

FuseTalk has announced a January 2011 release of FuseTalk 4 for ColdFusion 9.
