Long time ColdFusion developer and community member John Farrar has written ColdFusion 8 Developer Tutorial which is due to be published in August 2008. Congratulations John, it's great to see another ColdFusion title, and I can't wait to see a copy.
ColdFusion is a great language and we need more books about the topic. Every author takes a little different approach to the topic and we need more authors to write some targeted books on specific topics. I have heard many times that someone needs to write a book just on CFReports. Hal wrote a great book in the past when we were all new to CFCs. There have even been a number of books written about Fusebox. (My understanding is that a ColdBox book is in the work also.)
My hope is that my approach to the book contributes to more ColdFusion users joining the community and more people moving into CF8 and using it's wonderful new features. Readers are encouraged to send me feedback when it is released. I will see you guys at CFUnited.
