ColdFusion 8.0.1 Now Available

ColdFusion 8.0.1 (aka ColdFusion 8 Update 1) has been released. Among the changes are support for 64bit OSs, as well as support for Mac OSX Leopard and Windows Server 2008. The update also fixes some bugs, including the virtual folder problem that prevented many CF8 Ajax CFC calls from working.

Hey Ben, just read the release notes.

Direct quote:
"ColdFusion Enterprise and Developer editions can now run as 64-bit applications on the 64-
bit versions of the following operating systems:
• Windows Vista, 2003, and XP" and then it goes on to list non-Windows OSs.

Which leads me to believe that CF 8 Enterprise WILL NOT run as a 64-bit app on Server 2008. Which would be tragic.

Am I missing something?

I saw this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf8_...

But couldn't find a date on it, so can't tell if it's NEWER (hopefully, which means it looks like 64-bit CF EE is supported on 64-bit Server 2008, or possibly a lot older (and then 64-bit on 2008 support was dropped before the official release).

My fingers are crossed that it's newer.

The System Support Matrix is the official document for our platform support. So, YES we do have support for Windows Server 2008 for 64-bit! :) The release notes were completed before Microsoft announced the official launch date for Server 2008, and apparently we forgot to go back and update them.

The document that you want to refer to for system support is here http://www.adobe.com/go/coldfusion8_update1_suppor...

Cheers, :)
