Build Your Own MAX Bootcamp Session

New to MAX this year are developer bootcamps, and we're holding one dedicated to ColdFusion. For those of you yet to experience bootcamps, these are very informal, highly interactive, audience driven, hands-on, free-form, anything-goes type sessions - try to picture a semi-organized free-for-all. And these are big time fun. The ColdFusion bootcamp has no fixed speaker list, and no definite agenda. Instead, you get to set the agenda - for all 3.5 hours of it. Want to see examples of how to do cool things with CF8 Ajax support? You'll be able to do just that. We'll put an expert up front, and you'll get to see exactly what you want to see. Have your own example to show? Great, we'll put you up there, too. Want a walk through of getting the new ColdFusion debugger configured and installed? Sure, we can do that. Want to share code and follow along? That's encouraged, and we'll have lots of USB flash drives loaded with software for you to share and use and try. As I said, a semi-organized free-for-all for you and hundreds of your peers.

So, just to make sure we are on the right track, have you ever taken part in an event of this format (or lack thereof)? What would you like to see discussed? Would you like to present, and if yes, what? Any thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated!

Comments
Ben, I'd love to present. I can do a quick overview of just about anything in CF8. Or maybe talk a bit about the cooler parts of the RIAForge web site.

Ben, I think this yopic is very interesting. I want to know more about ColdFusion debugger and how to get this distributive to install on my computer?

Bootcamp? This sounds like a "teach-in and collaborate, man".

A bootcamp should be; "give me 20 cfqueries, 2 cfajaxproxies and rotate 30 images. Now."

;)

Sounds pretty cool in all seriousness.

Sam - a AJAX image rotator is a good example. Would you mind if I blogged a demo of that? (Unless you really think it would be good for the presentation. Wasn't sure if you were kidding or not. :)

Ben--I'll be there and would love to present. Maybe an OO crash course with an eye towards making sure your CFCs are ready to take advantage of all the AJAX goodness in CF 8. Just an idea off the top of my head.

@Ray: Go ahead!

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe Matt and I could work together (stop the presses - M2 and MG work together?) to see how to make CFCs that are ready to work with both AJAX and Flex.
