Adobe User Group To Host ColdFusion 8 Launch Event

The Adobe User Group is hosting an official ColdFusion 8 launch event on July 31, 2007 in Washington, DC. Oh, and if the thought of ColdFusion 8 being launched were not tempting enough, they'll be raffling off an iPhone, too. Sign up today for this event.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the official ColdFusion 8 release date is not July 31st, 2007. ;-)

ColdFusion 8 GMC and a hint to a final release date
It was just a couple of days ago when I received an email from the Adobe Prerelease Team telling me about the Scorpio GMC release, and today Ben Forta writes about the Adobe User Group hosting an official event lunch for ColdFusion 8 on July 31st in Washington DC.

So a non-launch launch event? :)

Nah, launch day is 8/8/2007, surely?

@Neil: I thought it might be 8/8 as well (given all the 8 jokes at the CFUnited keynote), but now that I've heard they'll be at least one more private beta before the release, I'm not so sure.

@Ben: If someone's already attended a Scorpio tour event and has been keeping up with the blogs and the stuff that came out of CFUnited, would that someone get something new/some significant benefit out of going to this event?

If you've been keeping a close eye on the product or have been participating in the beta, you may not get anything new from the event. Our planned agenda is high level message on CF8, a bit about the benefits of upgrading & a feature overview, a customer case story, then a technical session/demo.

I've heard rumors of new pricing information... any info on pricing so I can appropriately plan my donation to Adobe?

Do we have to expect a big increase in the price (is the upgrade can go more than 25% of the actual upgrade price between CF6 and CF7, whatver the edition?)?

And do we have a new date now for the release - can we pre-buy it at some point? I am developping our new application with CF8 instead of 7 since there is a lot of new tags that I love - CFMENU, CFTAB, CFEXCHANGE, CFIMAGE, CFPDF and many more. Thank you to this new version: CF7 was kool but CF8 is Rock!!!

=:-p
