Watch The Birth Of A Flex Project

Ryan Favro has started development on a Flex project, an online store for an actual client. He's going to be chronicling his progress, showing code snippets and sharing his experiences, and has posted the first entry in the series today. This one should be worth watching.

FastTrack At CFDevCon - Learn FusionDebug and FusionReactor

If you are planning on attending CFDevCon, then this will be of interest to you. Charlie Arehart will be teaching a full-day course on FusionDebug and FusionReactor on November 10th, 2006, the day after the conference.

FusionDebug enables developers to debug their programs by setting breakpoints, stepping into tags and CFCs, examining the contents of variables and watching expressions and much more. FusionReactor increases server stability and performance as well as adding powerful tools for monitoring, supporting, debugging and auditing ColdFusion and J2EE based websites and applications.

The course costs £249 (+VAT) and each attendee will receive a free license of FusionDebug (value $299) and free admission to CFDevCon. You can register online.

So Why Is MAX At The Venetian?

Sure, The Venetian is one of Vegas' hottest properties. And it's also home to both the Vegas production of Phantom of the Opera as well as Blue Man Group. And then there are The Grand Canal Shoppes and the spectacular new Venezia Tower. That's all great. But what is really appealing about The Venetian is that The Venetian web site is powered by ColdFusion MX 7!

And you thought we just picked any old location for MAX! ;-)

ReviewTube, Using Flex To Caption YouTube

Joe Berkovitz created ReviewTube, a Flex application that lets you write captions for YouTube movies. Joe explains the app online (and makes the source code available), and will be discussing design patterns and best practices involved in creating the app in his MAX session.
