The San Diego ColdFusion User Group has set up a mailing list to support anyone displaced by Katrina so that anyone who needs help or can offer help may subscribe, and the response has been unbelievable. Most of the usergroup managers are on this list and are offering Katrina victims places to stay, jobs, remote contract work, referrals, and more.

In addition, a Pennsylvania MMUG manager has organized fundraising that has already raised $636,156.

This is weird. As I mentioned a few days ago, Google Talk made changes to their authentication requirements, and as a result the ColdFusion XMPP gateway could no longer connect to that service. And as expected, my CFDocs bot stayed online until yesterday and then lost its connection, and once that happened it would not reconnect.

But for some reason it did reconnect just now. I changed nothing in my code or on my server, so I can't explain why it is now working. But it is.
