ColdFusion for IBM zSeries

Macromedia and IBM are pleased to announce the availability of ColdFusion MX Enterprise 6.1 for IBM zSeries mainframe. This integrated infrastructure is designed to provide the most productive, scalable and powerful web application platform for enterprise customers. This new product offering is targeted at companies looking to generate cost savings by consolidating servers onto the mainframe. The ColdFusion MX and IBM zSeries solution can help reduce infrastructure complexity and create an environment designed to be more flexible and responsive to the capacity requirements for large scale deployments. Details at http://www.macromedia.com/go/cf_zseries.

This totally rocks. Now if only Macromedia would support an official release for IBM's iSeries (one step down from the zSeries), every hope, dream, and wish (well, almost) for ColdFusion would be realized!

Seriously, I know of two people who have gotten CFMX running on the iSeries, but an *officially* supported version would be very welcomed. You would probably be surprised at the number of CF shops that have iSeries machines and are looking to consolidate just as zSeries shops are.

I'll pass that on, Rob.

I sell iSeries machines, that would be great for the iSeries market.

Hi,

I'm still trying to get Macromedia to recognize the AS/400, iSeries, i5. Check out this month’s iSeries News. (April 2005) http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/

I’ve received tons of positive feedback from all over the world. My first article was re-published in Spain and I’ve helped companies in Italy, Switzerland, Canada and the US with CF/iSeries issues. I'd love it if real writers (I kind of suck) like yourselves could enlighten Macromedia to the potential of this market segment.

My latest CF/iSeries site got over 2 million hits in the first 45 days. Solid as a rock. This combination works!

Thanks,
Jeremy
