Australian Film, Television and Radio School Saves Money with a CF Based CMS

ComputerWorld Australia (http://www.computerworld.com.au/index.php?id=1014291142&fp=16&fpid=0) is running a story on how a ColdFusion based open-source content management system is saving the Australian Film, Television and Radio School thousands of dollars. The CMS is FarCry created by our Australian friends at Daemon. Congrats to Geoff Bowers and crew and this well deserved publicity.

Ben -- thanks for the mention. The article has a few inaccuracies but on the whole is pretty good publicity :) I thought it might be worth mentioning the relevant URLs as they forget to in the article itself. The AFTRS website can be found at http://www.aftrs.gov.au/ and FarCry can be found at http://farcry.daemon.com.au/

Yapes.. hit the button too quick there. AFTRS is in fact at: http://www.aftrs.edu.au/

I found it interesting that these people use MSSQL, IIS, and ColdFusion, but they went with an open source CMS. I understand the budget concerns, but if your willing to do open source, why not use an open source OS and Web server? You could still use CF on Linux and Apache...would save a lot of money! ;)
